Antech Diagnostics, the largest exclusively commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the nation, is in search of a Spring Java Developer working out of our Fountain Valley office and reporting directly to the Vice President, Antech Imaging Services.


As part of the VCA Family, which operates the largest network of freestanding, full-service animal hospitals in the nation, Antech Diagnostics delivers state of the art testing and consulting services to practicing veterinarians.  Our diagnostic spectrum of tests in areas of chemistry, pathology, endocrinology, serology, hematology, and microbiology enhance the veterinarians ability to detect, diagnose, evaluate and prevent disease and other conditions affecting animals.


Antech Diagnostics is looking for great Spring Java Developer that can help us scale to meet the demands of growth.  You should enjoy finding solutions to big problems, working collaboratively with a smart, passionate and innovative team. You will develop and maintain Java code for Veterinary Telemedicine, build web applications to be used by animal hospitals and doctors worldwide. You will work on a critical system that directly improves the lives of animals all over the world, and delivers functionality that users are passionate about.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required or equivalent technical training and work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience developing in Java, with understanding of JEE applications
  • Experience with Spring Framework, particularly: MVC, REST, Data, and Security modules
  • Ability to use Maven build tools, repositories, and plugins
  • Experience with source control management using Git
  • Best practices in writing unit tests and integration tests with Junit
  • Code documentation skills, including Javadoc, inline comments, and external guide documents
  • Familiarity with SQL, especially with Oracle dialect, ORM, and JDBC
  • Understanding of RESTful web services
  • HTML authoring skills, including JavaScript and CSS
  • Proficiency with Linux environment and using Unix commands

Additionally, the preferred applicant will be familiar with the following technologies:
