Overview

Antech Diagnostics, the largest exclusively commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the nation, is in search of a Lab Coordinator Supervisor working out of our Fountain Valley laboratory and reporting directly to the Director of Client Services/LabC.

 

As part of the VCA Family, which operates the largest network of freestanding, full-service animal hospitals in the nation, Antech Diagnostics delivers state of the art testing and consulting services to practicing veterinarians.  Our diagnostic spectrum of tests in the areas of chemistry, pathology, endocrinology, serology, hematology, and microbiology enhance veterinarians’ ability to detect, diagnose, evaluate and prevent disease and other conditions affecting animals.

Responsibilities

Antech Diagnostics is looking for a strong leader to join our laboratory management team.  As the Lab Coordinator Supervisor you will supervise Lab Coordinators both on and off site, as well as oversee daily proceedings of the entire department.  Our Lab Coordinators act as customer relations interface between customers and the reference laboratories.  This is an ideal position for Lab or Vet Techs with supervisory experience looking to grow their careers and use their skills in a whole new way.

 

  • Supervises day-to-day activities in the department.
  • Supervises staff, assigning work, monitoring activities and evaluating performance. Resolves escalated issues. Administers employment actions, provides coaching and guidance to staff and promotes staff training and development. Provides input to department policies and procedures.
  • Leads work activities of the department, planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing and resources and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained
  • Communicates with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed.
  • Prepares reports, presentations and other information summarizing work activities. Prepares various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions.
  • Be able to perform all functions in the department, answering customer questions, investigating and resolving issues, engaging other Company resources as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree or RVT.
  • Minimum 4 years customer service, veterinary, medical and/or laboratory experience with past supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a veterinary technician, laboratory technician or medical assistant preferred.
  • Effective leadership skills, with the ability to motivate employees to meet and/or exceed performance expectations, and recognize star performers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities in a fast paced environment
  • Reasoning and analytical skills to resolve issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
