    Antech Diagnostics, the largest exclusively commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the nation, is in search of a Purchasing Director  working out of our Fountain Valley office and reporting directly to Vice President Finance & Administration.


    As part of the VCA Family, which operates the largest network of freestanding, full-service animal hospitals in the nation, Antech Diagnostics delivers state of the art testing and consulting services to practicing veterinarians.  Our diagnostic spectrum of tests in areas of chemistry, pathology, endocrinology, serology, hematology, and microbiology enhance the veterinarians ability to detect, diagnose, evaluate and prevent disease and other conditions affecting animals.



    Our Purchasing Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction and carry out all procurement activities for the company.  In addition, you will be responsible for identifying, developing strategic suppliers, cultivating relationships, and developing long-term security of supply at optimal cost.  You will also partner with internal customers to ensure that Antech operates at the best mix of cost, service, and reliability.  This position will set short and long term objectives for the purchasing group and ensures they align with the broad company strategic objectives.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Engineering, Production/Operations Management or relevant business experience
    • 5+ years experience in Business Operations, Purchasing, or related functions.
    • Must posses proven business judgement, and must be able to push the organization to take prudent risks when appropriate
    • Strong negotiation and general procurement knowledge and experience required.
    • Must have experience dealing with high-functioning manufacturing and lab operations, materials management processes & systems and budgeting & planning processes.  
    • Must be able to communicate well between departments, developing a team approach to procurement execution within the entire organization.
    • Must be able to get results through leading others, building a strong team, developing  and mentoring employees for advancement and growth. 
    • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and problem solving skills
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
