    Antech Diagnostics, the largest exclusively commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the nation, is in search of a  VCA Account Manager  Covering our Southeast region based in the Texas area.  Reporting directly to Director, National Accounts

     

    As part of the VCA Family, which operates the largest network of freestanding, full-service animal hospitals in the nation, Antech Diagnostics delivers state of the art testing and consulting services to practicing veterinarians.  Our diagnostic spectrum of tests in areas of chemistry, pathology, endocrinology, serology, hematology, and microbiology enhance the veterinarian’s ability to detect, diagnose, evaluate and prevent disease and other conditions affecting animals.

     

    Responsibilities

    This VCA Account Manager will be responsible for providing superior customer and sales support to our VCA hospitals and clientele within their region.  This position will have regional responsibility for growing VCA hospital same store sales and providing excellent customer service. 

    • Conduct sales calls to promote, sell, and service existing and potential animal hospitals.
    • Responsible for handling customer issues with VCA hospitals on the phone and on-site.
    • The position will require on-site visits with the hospitals to work with their practice manager and /or hospital director to help identify growth opportunities and gaps to drive same store sales.
    • There will be some travel and overnight stays associated with hospital visits and meetings.
    • Provide product and lab diagnostic support and service, including consultation at staff in-service and veterinarian seminars.
    • Make outbound calls to VCA hospitals to discuss areas of opportunity and provide support.
    • Understand and be able to effectively explain the differences in the tests, methodologies and profiles that are offered by Antech.
    • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources to establish a solid base of new business opportunities.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (Animal Health, Biological Sciences, Lab Sciences or Business-related field) is preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as veterinary technician, laboratory technician or Medical assistance is preferred.
    • Previous sales experience in a service industry, preferably in Animal Healthcare, Human Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Sales or Capital Equipment is optimal.
    • Knowledge of Diagnostic services is a plus.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills; team oriented; conceptual/consultative sales skills
    • Strong diplomacy and adaptability attributes
    • Strong data analysis, evaluation and problem solving skills
    • Must have the ability to take own initiative and work independently
