As part of VCA/Antech, Inc., which operates the largest network of veterinary diagnostic laboratories and freestanding, full-service animal hospitals in the nation, Antech Diagnostics provides sophisticated testing and consulting services used by veterinarians in the detection, diagnosis, evaluation, monitoring, treatment, and prevention of diseases and other conditions affecting animals.

 

We provide diagnostic testing for an estimated 16,000 clients, which include standard animal hospitals, large animal practices, universities, and other government organizations across all 50 states and Canada. Our diagnostic spectrum includes over 300 different tests in the areas of hematology, chemistry, pathology, endocrinology, serology, coagAulation, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics. Antech Diagnostics has an opportunity for a highly motivated Board Certified Medical Director - Internal Medicine Consultation Services . We are looking for someone with a passion for pioneering new ways to deliver high quality multi-disciplinary laboratory and case consultation.  Your responsible for the implementation, ongoing management and strategic growth of the consultation services group.

Responsibilities

Our Medical Director will be responsible for:

  • Supervising a team of veterinary specialists, which provide personalized support and guidance to Antech clients regarding diagnostic testing, laboratory results, treatment options and case management.

  • Manage performance of the professional consulting staff including hiring, performance reviews,  schedule and coaching.
  • Knowledgeable about laboratory diagnostic testing, including specimen requirements, methodology and clinical utility of each test and data interpretation.

  • Resolve and improve client relation issues efficiently and timely.  Coach and train the professional staff to handle customer service issues.

  • Liaison with lab coordinators and sales to resolve client disputes.

  • Develop goals and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales for development of educational materials and newsletters.

  • Develop and present CE seminars or other presentations to clients, Antech sales and staff.

  • Interact with R&D, marketing, sales, medical professionals and laboratory management in the research,development, launch and support of new laboratory tests and technologies.

Qualifications

Candidates Must have:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD degree or equivalent
  • Must be a board certified 
  •  5+ years of Clinical experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Prior record of accomplishments of high quality continuing education.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate effectively with our operations, sales, marketing and senior management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention  to detail
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast paced work environment
