Technical Training Specialist

Overview

The Training Specialist is responsible for conducting on-site, in-house, and web-based training classes on Sound’s products and services. In addition, this individual will identify training needs, scope requirements to build out training, develop guidelines and execute the implementation of training and development of the department. The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering training courses and ensuring all training materials and classes remain current and effective. The Training Specialist must remain current on Sound product releases and features and will be responsible for explaining product information to non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate has experience with various training methods, including on-the-job coaching, mentorship programs and e-learning.

Responsibilities

  • Mapping out training plans and schedules as well as designing and developing onboarding and quarterly refresher training programs.
  • Involved in training program development, build technical training environment, oversee classroom training, and update training materials.
  • Participates in and conducts technical training programs.
  • Creating, removing, and conducting regular maintenance of the Knowledge Base (KB) content and assessing user effectiveness through obtaining end-user insights and feedback.
  • Creates and updates training documentation on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
  • Completes the full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
  • Coordinates with Research and Development and Senior Customer Support Engineers to ensure prepared courses meet stated objectives.
  • Plan and designate project resources, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.
  • Writes training programs and develops module curriculum.
  • Develops training resources including Power Points, participant guides, facilitator guides, and job aides.
  • Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
  • Able to maintain comprehensive product and technical knowledge of all company products.

Qualifications

Work Experience Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience planning and implementing training concepts and material.
  • Basic understanding of training concepts including learning theory, motivation theory, and learning materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain technical and training documentation.
  • Proven work experience as a Training Specialist, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar role.
  • Very strong PC skills and knowledge of MS Suite applications.
  • Training Experience in a call center a plus.
  • Technical writing experience a plus.
  • Works well in collaborative environments.
  • Detail oriented with strong ability to.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in Medical Imaging (Ultrasound, CT, and Radiology) is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.

Qulifications & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in different stages simultaneously and demonstrate strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and work with diverse teams and individuals with various skillsets.
