Responsibilities

As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Manager (HRM) aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRM serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues and as an employee liaison. HRM assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRM seeks to develop integrated solutions. The HRM formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRM maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition.

 

  • Leads recruitment efforts for designated business units which include orientation and onboarding.
  • Drive staffing and workforce planning efforts for top talent for designated business units.
  • Assess, on an on-going basis, the needs and competencies required to fill upcoming openings; work with resources to ensure workforce planning is aligned with needs.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Maintain established time to fill goal for respective area.
  • Consult with management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of business priorities by providing informed viewpoints about human resources operations.
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Ensure documentation/paperwork is in place for new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations.
  • May assist international employees and related HR matters.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
  • Participate in the development, evaluation and monitoring of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met and program viewed as successful.
  • Participate in developing department goals, strategy, objectives, and systems.
  • Build and support the use of best practices for Human Resources.
  • Provide reporting to designated business units regarding recruitment, reviews, turnover, etc…
  • Conduct exit interviews and compiles summary of turnover data.
  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Five (5) years’ experience in the HR field or any appropriate combination of education and experience
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
  • Relevant industry experiences a plus
