Antech Diagnostics, the largest exclusively commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the nation, is in search of a Float Laboratory Technician working out of our Chantilly, VA laboratory and reporting directly to the Regional Lab Manager.


Provided a job offer is made and accepted, we are offering a one-time Signing Bonus of $1,000.00 [minus all applicable taxes].

This Position Requires 75% Travel Nationally and Internationally - Shift Times Vary [1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts]

The Ideal Candidate will have prior experience as a Medical Technician that involved performing some clinical diagnostic testing & using testing equipment. In this integral role you will perform tests in all areas of the laboratory such as: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, Parasitology, Histology.

  • Process samples and prepare samples for send out.
  • Perform all required quality control per QA guidelines.
  • Oversee the entering and releasing of results.



  • BS Degree in Medical Technology – MLT certification and minimum 1 year clinical lab experience (must include microscopic work reading manual diffs and CBCs)
  • Proficient in reading hematology blood smears and UA sediment slides (Manual Diffs)
  • Histology and Parasitology experiences strongly preferred
  • Extended hours may be needed including both AM and PM shifts
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
  • Excellent attention to detail; good organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (will occasionally need to speak with sales reps, laboratory personnel from main laboratory site, and may need to speak with clients.)
  • Has the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
