Antech Diagnostics, the largest exclusively commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the nation, is in search of a Serology Para PCR Laboratory Technician working out of working out of our Fountain Valley, California Laboratory and reporting directly to the Chemistry Supervisor. Provided a job offer is made and accepted, we are offering a one-time Signing Bonus of $1,000.00 [minus all applicable taxes].

The Serology PCR Technician is responsible examining samples for the presence of specific substances (often bacteria) using molecular diagnostic methods

Immunology/Serology- Testing blood and other samples for the presence of viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG). 

  • Perform and analyze results for the Total Parasite PCR panels and other non-PCR tests as required.
  • Reads and releases test results.
  • Tests performed may be more complex.
  • Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results.
  • Performs equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
  • Awareness of quality control and calibration.
  • Developing knowledge of multiple specialties.
  • Find missing specimens. Print and reconcile queue list.
  • Library all samples.
  • Maintain all departmental equipment.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
  • Awareness of quality control and calibration.
  • Cross-train and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab.
  • Applies job skills and lab policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks.
  • Reads, understands and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures.  Maintains clean and organized work area.  Restocks supplies as needed.
  • Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
  • Consult with senior peers on non-complex Serology tasks to learn through experience.  
  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position. Adherence to attendance-related policies and expectations is critical to this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Biology or other life sciences required
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT - Registered, Licensed or Certified through American Veterinary Medical Association accredited program-AVMA) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (American Society of Clinical Pathology-ASCP), or military equivalent a plus.
  • Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments.
  • Typically 0-1 years of PCR related lab experienc
  • General science background, including hematology/chemistry helpful. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
