Responsibilities

The Senior UX/UI Designer is responsible for delivering the best digital user experience success and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. This role will collaborate with the product team on translating product requirements into user flows and interface designs. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and create a robust UI component design system.
  • Work closely with Engineering in an Agile environment to bring designs from concept to production. 
  • Regularly attend meetings, SCRUMs, and workshops to build new features, iterate on existing features, or discuss upcoming potential features. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to identify user pain points and work with Product and Engineering to solve them.
  • Optimize existing and new user interface designs.
  • Creating user flow charts.
  • Create rapid low fidelity prototypes and mockups.
  • Create high fidelity prototypes and mocks.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager/Owner on translating product requirements to user flows, prototypes, and mockups.
  • Continue to be involved with the design process during and after development.
  • Preparing designs to handoff to the Engineering team.
  • Running and/or participating in Design Thinking workshops. (ie: Design Sprints)
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative data
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, or other duties as assigned.
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends, apply them into operations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, from a four-year college required.
  • 4+ years of experience as a UX and/or UI design
  • UX and/or UI portfolio
  • Knowledge of UX tools: Figma, Sketch, XD, and Zeplin. (Intermediate-Advanced)
  • Knowledge of Graphic Design tools: Photoshop and Illustrator. (Intermediate-Advanced)

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Basic knowledge and experience with HTML5 & CSS3
  • Knowledge of user-centric and the Design Thinking process.
  • Ability to gathering qualitative and quantitative data using tools and skills like Full Story, Hot Jar, User Research, Testing
  • Experienced working alongside an Engineering team and Product Manager/Director/Owner.
  • Experienced designing for mobile (progressive web apps and apps)
  • Ability to produce rapid low fidelity prototypes and mocks.
  • Ability to discuss and explain prototypes with stakeholders, customers, and developers.
  • Self-motivated and direct, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain in laymen’s terms the use of computer related technologies.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving and ability to think outside the box, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Ability to summarize and present complex information technology issues to senior leaders
  • Proven ability to work effectively with clients and management is required
  • Excellent coding and digital development abilities
  • The confidence to express ideas as part of a creative team
  • A clear and genuine interest in technological trends
  • The ability to meet deadlines and think strategically
  • A passionate approach to work with a desire to push boundaries
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Fluency in English

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Extensive sitting, phone, and computer use
  • Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
  • May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing ability to effectively communicate via the telephone and in person
  • Ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person
  • Extended hours may be needed

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. 

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet.  The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system.
